So Sam and I have been on a blog hiatus for a while, but we’re back. Christmas is a blur at this stage, but saw us travel home to Toronto to spend two weeks with family and friends. It was both wonderful and ridiculous- an amazing Christmas morning, delicious meals, lots of cuddles with my niece and time with my best friend (who took Sam skiing!) vs. travel delays, an ice storm, a 3 day power outage in -22 degree temperatures oh, and a stomach flu.
Needless to say, January has been spent getting back to normal. Oh and battling sinus colds, another bout of stomach flu, seriously inclement weather and well, January. It’s not a fun month by any means.
But we’re back in great form again and very excited about the new year and all that it will bring. Most importantly Sam’s big role change to big brother :) A new baby will be joining our little family in June and we couldn’t be more excited. Sam included. We only told him last week, but since then he’s just been so precious. He likes to take time out from playing to come over and kiss my tummy and say ‘hello baby’. And you wouldn’t believe how delighted he was in the grocery store on Friday when I pointed out that the new baby would sit in the little seat beside him once he or she arrives. He’s been talking about that non-stop ever since. He makes my heart melt.
We have another 4.5 months to enjoy our family of three before it grows. And to get more projects done in the house. And take a little holiday. And watch Sam continue growing in to an awesome little boy.
A few photos from the holidays…. Happy (very belated New Year!)
Building our first ever snowman. Thanks to the ice storm, this guy stayed perfectly entact for the full two weeks of our visit :)
Sam was in love :)
Playing with his trains on Christmas morning. (When he came downstairs and saw the train set under the tree he said ‘Sammy was hoping Santa would bring him a train and Santa brought him a train!’. Mommy cried :))
Traipsing through the snow. There was tons of it!
Our little reindeer at work.
Checking out the dinos at the ROM.
Sam on skis! He could not have loved it more, nor looked tinier standing at the top of the hill :) Thanks Katie, you made his whole year!
(Top photo is of Sam and Kevin tobogganing while visiting my wonderful cousins in Inisfil. Sam loved it. Speed is his thing!)
