Ever since we brought it home, this book has had a firm place on Sam’s nightly reading list. Imagine his utter delight when we saw a real construction site in action – at night, no less. Continue reading
Sam and I couldn’t believe our eyes when we found a whole new crop of ripe raspberries on the bushes yesterday. This late in the fall, it was the last thing we expected. Sam quickly gobbled up every last one. We’re making the most of these last days before winter really settles in. Continue reading
… helped Mommy bake some scones (he’s actually getting to be quite a help!); ‘called’ Nana from a rare old school payphone; found a new wooden train to play with at the library, major bonus; made a big line of trains with Daddy on the rug; and played outside after dark. Life doesn’t get much better than that.
We’re all really ready for the weekend. Looking forward to kicking back, eating yummy food and getting this house of ours in order once and for all. Just in time for Sam’s big 2nd birthday party next week :)
Have a terrific weekend. xo
I was just poking around on Pinterest while Kevin gets Sam down to bed and came across this lovely art print. It’s a lovely little reminder that even the days when it pours rain and we’re locked inside all afternoon, and someone is testy because he’s getting new teeth, or he’s bored or hungry or just feels like being testy, are great days. It’s not always easy to think of tough days as great days, but I have a feeling that years from now when my baby is all grown up and comes home from school, drops his stuff all over the floor and goes to his room to text his friends (or whatever kids will be up to in the future) I’ll remember rainy, boring afternoons like today and wish I could live them all over again :)
… explored in the woods; got new, seriously cool, slippers; really, really enjoyed a giant cupcake; acted like a total ham after waking from a nap; and ‘helped’ Mom with a little fall gardening.
And it’s Friday again! We seriously love the weekends around here. Sam’s looking forward to getting back to the pool after a few weeks off from swimming and Kevin and I are excited to be going on a rare date night to see Gravity tomorrow. We hear it’s fantastic :)
Have a wonderful weekend. xo
We’ve just about reached Sam’s 2nd birthday (hooray!) and we’re busy making the second draft of this beautiful keepsake. The day after Sam’s first birthday, Kevin and I started putting together 365 Days of Sam using Blurb, our favourite book printing company. It’s an absolute treasure that we all love to look through. At long last our new space has reached the point where I can take a few pictures, and call it done. Almost :) We LOVE our new space, the extension and a few changes we made in the rest of the downstairs has seriously maxed out our living space and made the house feel so much bigger. Needless to say Sam loves it too. He, and we, refer to it as the ‘new room’, I wonder if we’ll still be doing that a few years from now :) and he regularly announces that he’s going in there to play or read or climb in to Mahler’s bed.
