Last weekend we headed down to Kerry for Father’s Day weekend with Nana and Grandad. Sam was in his element being showered with treats and tractors all weekend. Here’s what we got up to…
The drive down. Gotta love the coma inducing effect of a car journey. At least until the dog started whining when we hit traffic and woke him up :(
Mommy’s idea of happiness is a cup of tea with a cookie on arrival.
Sam’s idea of happiness is finding all of the old family toys laid out in the living room for him to play with.
Nana brought home chips for dinner. Sam devoured them, and licked up all of the ketchup.
Finding the old lawn mower in the garage was as good as it gets for Sam.
Heading out in to Nana’s garden.
Dessert. Rhubarb in jelly. You have to try this. Roughly chop a few stalks of rhubarb, add just a little water, sugar and a few cloves, and stew until the rhubarb is very soft. Mix a pack of jelly (she uses Chiver’s Strawberry or Raspberry. North American’s- Jello will do) according to package instructions and add in the stewed rhubarb, spreading it evenly across your dish. Place in the fridge to set them serve with ice cream. Divine.
Watching the neighbor cut Grandad’s lawn. A favourite pastime for Sam.
Teeter-totter joy in the backyard.
Eating dinner with our new tractor by our side. Thanks Nana and Grandad.
A rained out Sunday.
More tractor time.
One last plate full of dessert for Mommy before we hit the road.
The drive back home. Visiting Nana and Grandad is so much fun it wears him out.
Thanks MC of Pearls, diamonds and everything else for the invite to your photo project, it was really fun to do!
